CEO/UDP Opportunity

 

With the upcoming retirement of the incumbent CEO/UDP, Global’s Boards of Directors are seeking an accomplished executive to lead the organization.  As a well-qualified senior executive candidate, you must possess most, if not all, of the following attributes:  broad and credible knowledge of the regulated financial services sector; the ability to build and sustain highly effective relationships with diverse stakeholders including working with various regulators and reporting to (and working closely with) a Board of Directors; and the ability to lead transformational change within an organization.

 

The CEO/UDP will be responsible for the leadership, strategic and management direction and business results of the company. Working closely with the Board and management team, the successful candidate will ensure that the company establishes appropriate goals and manages its resources to meet these goals. 


Key Accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, in conjunction with the Board and management team, the development of the Company's strategy;
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of the Company's long and short term goals in accordance with its strategy;
  • Ensure the Company is appropriately organized and staffed through the use of authority to hire and terminate staff as necessary to enable it to achieve the organization’s strategy;
  • To assess the principal risks of the Company and to ensure that these risks are being managed and monitored;
  • To ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place;
  • To ensure that the Company has appropriate systems to enable it to conduct its activities with high integrity and ethics;
  • To ensure that the Company maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility wherever it does business; and
  • To act as a liaison between management and the Board.

Education and Experience:

 

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree in business, commerce, management or related disciplines with a minimum of 20 years executive level experience of which 10 years recent experience should be in the financial services industry.  Previously registered as a senior officer or C level executive or director of a CSA regulated entity is a must. Strong understanding of compliance, securities rules and laws is required. Completion of the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers (PDO) course is mandatory.
